HMI: universal tags instead of hundreds of new ones

I keep hitting the tag limit on a KTP700 Basic. How do you handle new screens?

We recommend universal tags: a small set of HMI tags (buttons, lamps, numbers, texts) that get a different meaning in the PLC depending on the active screen number. A new screen then needs no new HMI tags, just one branch in a single PLC block.

The app can export screens, edit them and bring them back into TIA. Screen templates (a new block plus its screen in a few clicks) are in the works.
